- A big YEE-HAW to our Middle School elective music class!
- Yesterday they were chosen as the HISD Middle School winning entry in the Nutrition Services’ National School Lunch Week jingle contest.
- Students were asked to compose a short jingle or rap about the importance of making healthy food choices for the theme “What’s on Your Playlist?”
- Congratulations to our students Marion, Gabriella, Amia, Emily, Juniper, and Allison and our music teacher Mrs. Ronith!

- The Briameadow Volleyball team won their tournament this weekend and are City Champions in their 26 team league.

Baylor College of Medicine has invited our female students ages 8+ to register for and attend the 7th Annual Girls Elevated Conference.
- This event is February 29th at the United Way on Waugh Street.
- It’s an interactive, multi-track event designed to educate young girls ages 8 -18, and their caregivers, on emotional and physical development, mental health and healthy relationships.
- There is an inspirational speaker and learning activities for the girls and caregivers.

7th and 8th Grade Families,
The application link for the Baylor College of Medicine Saturday Morning Science Program will be live in about a week. This is a program that exposes 7th-12th graders, especially underrepresented minorities and/or underserved students, to careers in medicine and science, and runs for a total of eight sessions on Saturdays, January-May 2020.

The Dad’s Club Grille at the Fall Festival will have the same menu as last year: choice of hamburger, hot dog, or grilled cheese sandwich with chips and a drink.

Update: Pennies for Patients donation boxes are now due back to the school by Monday November 18 if your student has anything to donate.
On November 7 the school kicked off a donation drive: Pennies for Patients
- Now through November 18.
- This is a voluntary program collecting coin and cash donations.
- Amounts collected will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of Briarmeadow student Alijah McDaniels who died this summer from leukemia.
- Please check with your student for more details. He/she should bring home a collection box today or soon.

These are during-school event for students. “Music Encounters” is a Da Camera education initiative that brings classical music and jazz to students just feet from their desks, connecting music with the content students are learning in school.
