Register as a Volunteer in Public Schools (VIPS)
- Every year all parents and caregivers need to register with Volunteers in Public Schools (VIPS) and get a background check.
- Registration takes two steps:
- Register online at houstonisd.org/vips (Last year it was a paper form.) AND
- Present your photo ID at the Front Desk to scan into the Raptor system.
- If you don’t have access to a computer or smartphone, you may use the computers in the school lobby when you’re here (drop off, lunch time, pick up, etc.).
- We need everyone to register now please to allow time for your background checks—especially volunteers at the Fall Festival on November 3.
- You cannot help in the classroom, volunteer, or chaperone field trips unless you’re registered with VIPS and your annual background check has been completed.
- If you’re unsure if you are cleared in VIPS, please check with the Front Desk.
- Thank you for helping make Briarmeadow a great school for our kids!
Fall Festival Volunteer Sign-Up
- It is time to sign-up to help at the Fall Festival.
- Each elementary classroom has a booth/activity to staff with volunteers on November 3.
- It’s our biggest event of the year and we need all classes to participate.
- Please check the sign-up to see your classroom’s booth/activity and sign-up for a volunteer shift.
- Your classroom appears four times—under each hourly shift (10am, 11am, 12pm, and 1pm) and all slots must be filled.
- Be sure to click all the way through until your sign-up is confirmed.
- Volunteer responsibilities generally include:
- Managing the kids in line (no cutting ahead of people),
- Counting and taking tickets or checking for wristbands,
- Telling people where they can buy tickets (if they don’t have them), and
- Supervising and enforcing safety.
- If you would like more information about the Fall Festival, please check the PTO website.
Thank you, Broncos!
