This Week at BCS: May 20

  • Tuesday 9am-2pm:  Elementary Field Day
    • Elementary students should wear athletic wear (shorts, etc.) and shoes. They do not need to come in uniform.
    • Apply sunscreen on students before school
    • Visitors sign in and out at the front desk
    • Lunch will be in the cafeteria as usual
    • (Middle School had their field day in the fall)

  • Tuesday May 28 9:30-11:10am, 12:30-12:50pm, & 2:00-3:45pm:  Market hosted by 3rd grade
    • Third grade will be creating and running a market on Tuesday, May 28th from 9:30-11:10, 12:30-12:50, and 2:00-3:45.
    • The students will be selling rice krispie treats, slime, jewelry, key chains, sugar scrub and bath bombs for $1-$2 each.
    • All profits will go back to BCS or a charity of student choice.
    • Please send your students to school with some pocket money (up to $3) and/or stop by to support our future entrepreneurs!

This Week at BCS:  March 25

  • All Week:  Earth Day t-shirts are available to order by paper form (cash) or on-line in our PTO store (credit card). T-shirt orders and all on-line picnic wristband orders are due by Friday March 29.
  • Monday-Thursday:  8th Grade trip to DC. Be at school before the bus departs at 4:30am on Monday.
  • Monday:  Teachers are sending home report cards today, if they didn’t already on Friday.
  • Tuesday-Wednesday:  5th Grade overnight camp
  • Tuesday 4-9pm:  Family Night Out at Molina’s Cantina—dine at Molina’s for dinner, mention Briarmeadow or show the flyer, and 20% goes back to BCS! http://www.molinascantina.com/
  • Tuesday night:  PTO Volunteer Info & Round-Up—chat with our board and committee members to learn about our committees and volunteering for next year. See the flyer and come find us at Molina’s.
  • Wednesday 8:30-11:30am:  Teacher Appreciation Week Decorations—It’s time to show our appreciation for our fabulous teachers and staff! Teacher Appreciation Week is April 22-26, and the PTO needs your help NOW to decorate our school. Please sign-up to let us know you’re coming. Sign up for as many time slots as you’d like. Be sure to click all the way through until your sign up is confirmed.
  • Wednesday 12:30-3:15pm:  Teacher Appreciation Week decorations. Please sign-up to let us know you’re coming.
  • Wednesday 8pm:  Name Stinkerbelle’s Newborn Goats Auction begins.
    • Support our School Farm and bid to name one of Stinkerbelle’s two baby goats.
    • Bidding starts at $20 or buy-it-now for $250 per baby.
    • The two auctions end Friday April 5 at 7pm or with buy-it-now.

This Week at BCS:  February 25

This Week:

  • Tuesday 11am-midnight:  Family Night Out at BB’s Restaurant—dine at BB’s for lunch and/or dinner, mention Briarmeadow, and 20% goes back to BCS! https://www.bbstexorleans.com
  • Tuesday 5-6:30pm:  5th Grade Southwest Middle School Presentation—for 5th graders looking for a small middle school. Dinner at 5:00, presentation at 5:30.
  • Thursday 7:45-8:20am: Monthly Parent Information Meeting with Mr. Heinze in the lobby during morning drop off. The PTO will livestream a video on Facebook of the meeting for parents who cannot attend in person:  www.facebook.com/BCSPTO
  • Thursday:  The Spring Buy-Out is due to a PTO representative or the front desk, if you did not meet the Boosterthon minimum.
    • Choice of two ways to meet your PTO Spring fundraising obligation:
      • Spring Buy-Out: $100 (1 child) or $200 (2+ children) – or –
      • Minimum Boosterthon Pledge Obligation: $50 (1 child) or $100 (2+ children); pledging is now closed.

Fun with Teachers Fundraiser:

Mr. Vasquez, who is teaching 7th & 8th grade social studies and Odyssey of the Mind this year, is hosting an upcoming Fun with Teachers Fundraiser. If you have 3rd– 8th grade students who like to build and craft, please sign them up for some fun learning origami.

Fall Fundraiser Update

Good morning, Broncos!

Three things today in the second and final week of our Fall Fundraiser:

(1) Please join us tonight Tuesday October 23rd at Los Tios Restaurant. Eat with your friends. 20% goes back to BCS. The flier is on the PTO Calendar.

(2) The PTO is allowing partial Fall buy-out payments. (Partial boxes of chocolates are NOT allowed.) Buy-out levels are now $30, $60, $90 or $120 depending on how many boxes of chocolates you’ve sold. 2018_2019_FF_Buyout_Form.pdf

For example—if you have one student at the school and you sell one box of chocolates, your buy-out payment would be $30 to meet the minimum. If you have two or more students at the school and you sell one box of chocolates, your buy-out payment would be $90 to meet the minimum.

(3) Payments for boxes of chocolates are being accepted in cash or credit card.

Come and get your chocolates if you haven’t already.

This Week at BCS: October 22

  • All Week:  Our Fall Fundraiser continues through Friday. Chocolate distribution (Elementary) is in the lobby before and after school. The Otis Spunkmeyer cookie dough (Middle School) online school code is BRIA28.
  • All Week:  Fall Festival Bronco Bracelets and tickets are on sale in the lobby before and after school and online in the PTO Website Store.

This Week at BCS: October 8

  • Friday 7:45-8:30 AM:  Pastries with Parents—Come enjoy donuts, coffee & juice with your student. Photo mementos are $3.
  • All Week:  Through October 19 our Girl Scout troop is collecting donations for the Houston Food Bank. If you have pantry items to share, please bring them to the lobby. Highest need items are:
    • Canned meat, poultry, fish
    • Peanut butter
    • Canned fruits and veggies (low sugar, no salt)
    • Cereal
    • Soups, stews
    • Pasta (whole grain)
    • Dry beans
    • Rice.
  • All Week:  Through October 18 you can pre-order Fall Festival T-shirts. Sales are pre-order only. You can purchase on-line or turn in a paper order form with payment. Fall Festival pre-selling has also begun in the lobby before and after school, by paper order form (also in Spanish), and on-line.
  • Look for Fall Fundraiser materials to come home this week. Selling is Monday October 15—Friday October 26. Families are required to participate or buy-out.

Volleyball & School Forms

Our Volleyball A Team has a game today at 5:00 PM vs. Harmony School of Science at TH Rogers.

The school needs these forms returned for every student. If you haven’t already, please send them in with your student:
  • Parent Responsibilty and Commitment Form, included in Charter Chatter #1 available on Livingtree
  • 2018-2019 Code of Student Conduct, included in Charter Chatter #1
  • Student Media Consent and Release Form, included in Charter Chatter #1
  • 2018-2019 Family Survey, included in Charter Chatter #2
  • Socioeconomic Information Form, light blue form handed out at the Front Desk during Round-Ups and Meet the Teacher events
Tomorrow, Tuesday September 25 4-9PM, is Family Night out at Texadelphia. Please join us for a dinner fundraiser for BCS.
