  • Now through Friday 7pm or until buy-it-now:  On-line auction to name Stinkerbelle’s two newborn goats
  • All Week:  Bring bottled water and nut-free dry snack donations for STAAR testing.  See signup on Livingtree.
  • Monday:  1st Grade field trip to see Aesop’s Fables play
  • Monday 5-6pm:  Family Learning AcademySign up/RSVP
  • Tuesday:  World Autism Awareness Day—Light it up blue:  Students who come to school wearing light blue for autism awareness may come in free dress. Students who do not dress for the theme should wear uniforms.
  • Tuesday 8:30-11:30am:  Teacher Appreciation Week Decorations—It’s time to show our appreciation for our fabulous teachers and staff! Teacher Appreciation Week is April 22-26, and the PTO needs your help NOW to decorate our school. Please sign-up to let us know you’re coming. Sign up for as many time slots as you’d like. Be sure to click all the way through until your sign up is confirmed.
  • Tuesday 12:30-3:15pm:  Teacher Appreciation Week decorations.
  • Wednesday 6-7:30pm:  Monthly PTO Meeting—All parents and teachers are welcome. To learn more about what we do and how you can help, please see this flyer or come to the meeting.
  • Thursday 8:30-11:30am:  Teacher Appreciation Week decorations. Please sign-up to let us know you’re coming.
  • Thursday 8:30am:  Planning Meeting for International Day—Please come if you are interested in representing your country or culture at our May 21 International Day.
  • Friday 9am:  Last school tour of the year
  • Other:  Ms. Preston has a new Donors Choose project to fundraise for classroom STEM toys. Please share her project with anyone who might donate.

This Week at BCS:  February 4

This Week:

  • All Week:  Boostherthon Funrun.com Class Registration Challenge—Win free dress for your class on Friday February 15th!  If every student in your class registers on funrun.com by Friday February 8th, you may come to school out of uniform on February 15th! Registration is fast and free.
  • Monday:  Boosterthon pep rallies—1:45–2:15pm for 5th – 8th Grades; 2:25–2:55pm for PK – 4th Grades
  • Tuesday 5:30-6:30pm:  5th Grade Exhibition (interested families are welcome, especially 4th Grade families)
  • Wednesday:  5th Grade Exhibition (students will not be with their projects during 5th Grade enrichment and lunch periods from 11:30am-1:15pm)
  • Wednesday:  Valentine’s Shop open in the lobby before and after school, daily until Valentine’s Day (8th Grade fundraiser)
  • Wednesday 6-7:30pm:  Monthly PTO Meeting—please come learn what the PTO is doing and how you can help
  • Thursday:  100th Day of School—any celebrations are planned individually by classroom
  • Thursday 3:45-5:30pm:  Catapults Away with Mr. Vasquez, Fun with Teachers Fundraiser—if your 3rd Grader or older likes to build things, please sign up as soon as possible. As of Sunday morning, the two students who have signed up are not enough to hold the fundraiser. Eight spots remain. Mr. Vasquez is also hosting Origami After School in March.
  • Friday:  Last day of Funrun.com Class Registration Challenge. Pledging and registration continue until Fun Run Day February 13.

This Week at BCS:  January 21

This Week:

  • Monday:  No School for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
  • Tuesday:  Souper Bowl of Caring food drive begins, students are asked to bring 2 nonperishable items, if they are able. Classrooms that collect donations equal to two times their headcount will earn a free dress day. (For example, if a classroom with 20 students collects at least 40 items, they will earn a free dress day.)
  • Thursday 7:45am:  Monthly Parent Information Meeting with Mr. Heinze. The PTO will live stream the meeting on our Facebook page:  www.facebook.com/BCSPTO

Frigo Cheese Teacher Recognition Contest:

This Week at BCS: October 22

  • All Week:  Our Fall Fundraiser continues through Friday. Chocolate distribution (Elementary) is in the lobby before and after school. The Otis Spunkmeyer cookie dough (Middle School) online school code is BRIA28.
  • All Week:  Fall Festival Bronco Bracelets and tickets are on sale in the lobby before and after school and online in the PTO Website Store.

This Week at BCS: October 8

  • Friday 7:45-8:30 AM:  Pastries with Parents—Come enjoy donuts, coffee & juice with your student. Photo mementos are $3.
  • All Week:  Through October 19 our Girl Scout troop is collecting donations for the Houston Food Bank. If you have pantry items to share, please bring them to the lobby. Highest need items are:
    • Canned meat, poultry, fish
    • Peanut butter
    • Canned fruits and veggies (low sugar, no salt)
    • Cereal
    • Soups, stews
    • Pasta (whole grain)
    • Dry beans
    • Rice.
  • All Week:  Through October 18 you can pre-order Fall Festival T-shirts. Sales are pre-order only. You can purchase on-line or turn in a paper order form with payment. Fall Festival pre-selling has also begun in the lobby before and after school, by paper order form (also in Spanish), and on-line.
  • Look for Fall Fundraiser materials to come home this week. Selling is Monday October 15—Friday October 26. Families are required to participate or buy-out.

This Week at BCS: October 1

  • Monday:  Free dress for students who WEAR PINK for breast cancer awareness. Students who do not wear pink should come in uniform.
  • Tuesday:  National Custodian’s Day—Thank you, Mr. Rey and Ms. Domitila!
  • Tuesday 3:45-4:45:  First weekly Name That Book team meeting for 3rd-5th Grades
  • Wednesday4th Grade field trip to HMNS—remember chaperones MUST already be cleared in VIPS. Adults who have not completed the background check for the current school year cannot chaperone the field trip and cannot meet the students at the museum.
  • Wednesday 5:30-6:00 PM:  Fall Festival Planning Meeting—We need lots of help and volunteers to plan the Fall Festival. Please bring your ideas to our meeting.
  • Wednesday 6:00-7:30PM:  Monthly PTO MeetingWe need you! All parents and caregivers are invited to the PTO meeting to see how you can help and volunteer.

Middle School Name That Book & Volleyball

There is a Middle School Name That Book team meeting for interested students at 2:00 today September 28 in the library. It was announced to students over the morning announcements today.
Our Volleyball B Team lost Thursday September 27 to Yellowstone in three sets: 25-19, 27-25, and 15-9.
Our Volleyball A Team plays today Friday September 28 at 5:00 at TH Rogers.
Monday October 1 is a free dress day for students who wear PINK for breast cancer awareness. Students who do not wear pink should come in uniform.
