This Week at BCS:  February 25

This Week:

  • Tuesday 11am-midnight:  Family Night Out at BB’s Restaurant—dine at BB’s for lunch and/or dinner, mention Briarmeadow, and 20% goes back to BCS! https://www.bbstexorleans.com
  • Tuesday 5-6:30pm:  5th Grade Southwest Middle School Presentation—for 5th graders looking for a small middle school. Dinner at 5:00, presentation at 5:30.
  • Thursday 7:45-8:20am: Monthly Parent Information Meeting with Mr. Heinze in the lobby during morning drop off. The PTO will livestream a video on Facebook of the meeting for parents who cannot attend in person:  www.facebook.com/BCSPTO
  • Thursday:  The Spring Buy-Out is due to a PTO representative or the front desk, if you did not meet the Boosterthon minimum.
    • Choice of two ways to meet your PTO Spring fundraising obligation:
      • Spring Buy-Out: $100 (1 child) or $200 (2+ children) – or –
      • Minimum Boosterthon Pledge Obligation: $50 (1 child) or $100 (2+ children); pledging is now closed.

  • Friday 9am:  School Tour for prospective families
  • Friday 6-9:30pm:  Family Movie Night on the Lawn
    • Presented by the Dads Club.
    • Please come for a night of fun and fellowship!
    • Admission is free, concessions are $1 each (beef or turkey hot dogs, chips, drinks, s’mores).

Fun with Teachers Fundraiser:

Mr. Vasquez, who is teaching 7th & 8th grade social studies and Odyssey of the Mind this year, is hosting an upcoming Fun with Teachers Fundraiser. If you have 3rd– 8th grade students who like to build and craft, please sign them up for some fun learning origami.

This Week at BCS:  January 21

This Week:

  • Monday:  No School for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
  • Tuesday:  Souper Bowl of Caring food drive begins, students are asked to bring 2 nonperishable items, if they are able. Classrooms that collect donations equal to two times their headcount will earn a free dress day. (For example, if a classroom with 20 students collects at least 40 items, they will earn a free dress day.)
  • Thursday 7:45am:  Monthly Parent Information Meeting with Mr. Heinze. The PTO will live stream the meeting on our Facebook page:  www.facebook.com/BCSPTO

Frigo Cheese Teacher Recognition Contest:

Hopefully next time we’ll get the whole meeting.  The first part of the meeting is about dyslexia; the second part is about our Fall Festival; at the end we circle back to dyslexia and constructivist learning. Fall Fundraiser

Fall Festival Volunteers Needed

Our Fall Festival is in 8 days on November 3. We need 8 adults from each Elementary classroom to sign-up to volunteer at our Fall Festival for 1 hour at 10am, 11am, 12pm, or 1pm. Please sign-up now; don’t put it off. 68 spots are still open. Classrooms that fill all their volunteer spots earn a popsicle party for the students.
