There is no Volleyball after school today Wednesday October 3.

Morning Announcements

From the PTO:
  • The October 2 Fall Fesrtival Planning meeting has been rescheduled to October 3 5:30-6:00 PM due to a conflict with Briarmeadow Neighborhood National Night Out (October 2 5:00-7:00 PM).
From Mr. Heinze:
  • 1st-5th grade should not bring toys to school. Toys should not be out in the Cafeteria before school (breakfast time) or at lunch; those times and the Cafeteria are for eating. If you’re bringing toys for recess or show and tell, check with your teacher first before you bring them.
  • Please thank Mr. Rey and Ms. Domitila on Tuesday October 2, National Custodians Day. October is National Principals Month. Thank you, Mr. Heinze!
  • Our Volleyball Teams attended a tournament on Saturday September 29. Thank you, Coach Z and Coach Bays!

This Week at BCS: October 1

  • Monday:  Free dress for students who WEAR PINK for breast cancer awareness. Students who do not wear pink should come in uniform.
  • Tuesday:  National Custodian’s Day—Thank you, Mr. Rey and Ms. Domitila!
  • Tuesday 3:45-4:45:  First weekly Name That Book team meeting for 3rd-5th Grades
  • Wednesday4th Grade field trip to HMNS—remember chaperones MUST already be cleared in VIPS. Adults who have not completed the background check for the current school year cannot chaperone the field trip and cannot meet the students at the museum.
  • Wednesday 5:30-6:00 PM:  Fall Festival Planning Meeting—We need lots of help and volunteers to plan the Fall Festival. Please bring your ideas to our meeting.
  • Wednesday 6:00-7:30PM:  Monthly PTO MeetingWe need you! All parents and caregivers are invited to the PTO meeting to see how you can help and volunteer.

This Week at BCS: September 17

  • Monday – Friday:  Peace Day Picnic $5 wristband sales in the lobby before and after school.
  • Monday – Friday:  Please bring picnic donations to support the fundraiser, to the lobby or carpool drop off:
    • PreK – 1st Grade:     Desserts-brownies, grocery store bakery cookies, etc. (no nuts please, cupcakes tend to roll off the kids’ plates)
    • 2nd– 4th Grade:     Chips-individually wrapped
    • 5th– 8th Grade:     Drinks-juice boxes/pouches, water
  • Monday – Wednesday:  Peace Day Picnic $5 wristband sales on-line with delivery to classrooms on Thursday.
  • Monday 4:00:  UIL Elementary Speech & Theatre Arts Meeting–This is only for those elementary students invited to the speech & theater arts UIL team.
  • Tuesday 6:00-7:30 PM:  Fall Festival Planning Meeting–If you are interested in joining the Fall Festival Committee or simply interested in learning more, please plan to come. It is a PTO-sponsored event and we welcome all help. This is a great way to get to know other parents and PTO board members.
  • Thursday:  Peace Day Deliveries–T-shirts and on-line-purchased wristbands delivered to classrooms.
  • Thursday 3:45:  Name That Book Info Meeting for 3rd-5th Grades. See our calendar for details.
  • Friday 10:15-1:15:  Peace Day Picnic–Students with $5 wristbands get drink, chips, dessert, and choice of pizza (pepperoni or cheese) or chicken fingers. Students without a wristband eat a cafeteria meal or lunch from home. Parents are welcome to join their students, bring a picnic blanket, and/or buy yourself a lunch wristband if you’d like to eat.
